Course Details

The objective of this course is to give adequate knowledge and experience of space, form , colour, texture and develop an ability to utilize ideas and present different schemes through the medium of drawings and models.

Eligibility : S.S.C. (Maharashtra State Board of Secondary or it’s equivalent)
Duration : –  Two Years
Job Opportunities : Job offered by boutiques and with fashion designers of repute, garment manufacturing companies, can self practice the profession.

Introduction

Garments have become more than a necessity today.  It’s luxury, style, glamorous, tempting enough for all class people to insist on ‘Designer Wear”.

The Fashion Designers may be mocked as ‘glorified darjis’ in modern context but are class apart in the sense of services they offer and their contribution towards an individual and society as whole.

To promote this industry further the injection of fresh talents is must and hence the need of systematic, comprehensive and industry oriented course which is offered by Kala Vidya Sankul.

Objectives

  • To develop design and technical skills, as well as increase knowledge of material, production methods and fashion styles.
  • To provide a basis for further study and/or recognised qualification for career in the fashion industry.
  • To cover range of activities including sketching, draping, pattern making, textiles and computer aided design.
  • To encourage to acquire and ability to combine all technical aspects of the subject as means to use his creative ideas to fulfill the needs of the client.
  • To include aspects of merchandizing, as forecasting styles, advertising, sales promotion, store operations, retail management etc.
